Somehow I don't think it will be that hard to add RAM, PCI cards, etc. I don't think Steve or Jonathan Ive would have allowed it. I guess we'll have to wait untill they are released to find out.
"Intel Inside" Not a marketing gimmick, but a warning label.

I think it's hideous. Apple has gone back to the look from 1990. The outside makes it look cheap.

Ok... I want all of what's inside of it packed into one of those G4 Silver towers. THOSE were beautiful, elegant, sleek and classy.
This one... eh.. definitely cheese grater. Though it does color coordinate nicely with the Powerbooks.
Really, though, I love the sleek glassy look of the silver series. Very glad that apple has moved up the next step -- I work in a room full of pc users and I'm slowly but surely winning them over with my mac.
If you don't know where you're going -- you're bound to end up somewhere else.

Re: poll: is the new powermac g5 ugly or f'in sexy?
My Windoze PC idiot friend claims that IBM does not make chips. He claims Intel builds it.
Can anyone verify this as true or false?
Thanks.False. Your friend's a bozo. The "G5" in the new Power Mac G5 is an IBM PowerPC 970, based on the architecture used in their Power line of server-class chips.
I can't believe that question deserved an answer, especially when the answer came from Rik
I smell a conspiracy or a fish or something. Yes, Intel make the chip. They disguised it as an IBM PPC970, but really IBM have a clandestine relationship with Apple. One day soon, you'll see.
Oh, the G5 is sexy. Very sexy. I'm selling my wife so I can buy one. She's yapping away right now completely oblivious of my plans. Yap, yap, yap, yap, yap, yap, yap...
I just nod and laugh in the right places... while all the while I think of that shiny new G5...
