Unable to boot into OSX, Apple Hardware Test, or Drive 10 CD
I have a new Powerbook 1ghz and I have NO problem booting up using the HD.
However, I was trying to boot (hold C) into the OSX 10.2 cd to use the disk utility. All I got was kernel panic. I tried several more times, no success. I then tried the Apple Hardware CD--same result. I also tried the Drive 10 (ver. 1.2.3) and had the same result. In fact, once I got a kernel panic it would continue to loop around and give me more kernel panics as long as the CD was in the drive (not holding down C)
When I did the same thing using the PB System Restore and Applic DVD I did not have a problem at all.
Does anyone have an idea why I cant do this boot up using CDs, but can using DVD? It is not a big deal, just curious.

Try flushing the PRAM.
hold down apple-option-p-r during startup.
