Dance Dance revolution anyone???

I seemed to have forgotten which mag the dance dance revolution on the go showed up in if anyone could help me out remembering it would be much appreciated.  Or if anyone could send to a site that would help me get rid of this evil infatuation with the game, and having it on my mac.

Thanks

PS I also need to find that cool adapter so I can hook my ps2 controller up to the computer

Re: Dance Dance revolution anyone???

Well there's:

PyDance (formerly PyDDR)

and there is NOW a Mac OS X version of the popular Stepmania, which is alot closer to the actual DDR games.

As for adaptors, check out the sites to see what they recommend, but I remember them recommending a specific adaptor.  Can't remember which one though.

I would just like to say that everyone should pay good attention to when manga_magic has something to say.   Its a good thing that other people remember things better than I do.  I swear sometimes its good that my head is attached to my shoulders.

If anyone knows what the adaptor is called just leave it on the board.

Re: Dance Dance revolution anyone???

I'd definately suggest using Stepmania, because I 'tried' using pyDDR, and it isn't very good with tempo changes, and its not as close to the game as Stepmania is. (Unfortunately, the article came out before the Stepmania version was released.) Just make sure that you follow the directions well for setting up the song, Oni courses, non-stops, and stuff.

For the adapter, there are some pretty nice Level-Six ones around (I don't know the link off the top of my head, and I'm too lazy to get it, sorry.) that work quite well. But there is also the BNS adapters that come with the BNS pads when you buy them. [example] http://buynshop.com/productinfo/44/DC-DDR/
http://buynshop.com/productinfo/44/VG-DDR-ULTDX/ [/example]

I hope that this information helps you. See you on the dance pad. ^^

Thanks for the comment.  But please, my words aren't law or anything.  And infact, I don't even have the July issue!  I just saw it on Macgamer a few months ago and have kept on top of it's development.  Hopefully that too will mature into a great DDR program like Stepmania, as it's good to have choices.  Although I can't resist playing Stepmania, what with all the anime themes my friend had on his PC version. ^_^

You should definitely go with Level Six adapters.

Re: Dance Dance revolution anyone???

there was an FTP posted on a DDR message board several weeks ago containing all songs for every mix that all worked on stepmania but one of the admins took it off when I came back that evening to download them. Does anyone know where to get 'em?

Re: Dance Dance revolution anyone???

Hmmm, I must have missed that.  Darn!  I can check with one of my friends.  They are always in the campus cafe with their laptops playing Stepmania blasting as loud as people can stand. ^_^;  I'm sure one of them must know of something.  But don't hold me to this, but I'll see what I can do.
