Vive la Steve?
Hi there,
Even though I'm sure Mr. Jobs is well in balance with his feminine side, I'm sure it would have been more appropriate to use the masculine "le" instead of the feminine "la" in the article dubbed "Good-bye Titanium" on your index page.

Re: Vive la Steve?
Speaking of vive la / vive le, can someone tell me exactly what that means? I've asked a few and never gotten a decent answer .... yet ....

Re: Vive la Steve?
Vive = Live
la/le = article
noun = noun
All together, it basically means Long live [noun]!
Vive la France = Long live France (the origin of this phrase, obviously)
Vive le Steve = Long live Steve
Vive la Steve = a poor mix of both of the above
Now, this is based on 3 years of high school French, so I may be wrong. (67%)

Re: Vive la Steve?
And in a Far Side cartoon, there were two male frogs (or toads) looking at a female frog (or toad) and one said to the other, 'Vive la difference!'
And my dad just explained it to me, since he's bilingual
