Running Warcraft 3 on Imac?
Hello, I've had my Imac for a little over a month now and seem to have problems running WC3. I have the 17" 1.0 G4 Imac with 768 RAM and WC3 runs choppy. I've downloaded an optimizer, started in OS9, and tweaked with video settings, and it still hasn't run as smooth as I hoped. Can I allocate memory or do something else? Any help or suggestions would be appriciated. Thanks.

Re: Running Warcraft 3 on Imac?
Do you guys run WC3 in OSX or 9? I ran WC3 on maximum settings before and it worked fine, but of late it is really choppy. I play with 3 buddys and we've playing around 5cpus. I don't know what to do.

Mine is decent....on a G3-400indigo! 384 Ram. Not starcraft like speed, but its livable
Dont worry Mr iMac you will be back, we'll keep the chocolate warm for you.
Gee, you got a Windows box to blue screen? That's inconceivable!
Thank you Macskeeball for my great new avatar!

Re: Running Warcraft 3 on Imac?
My friend has the same version iMac as u and WC3 works fine. I don't have a clue why it would run choppy though.
A world without people would be... well .... GREAT!

Re: Running Warcraft 3 on Imac?
Well, over the weekend I reinstalled my cpu. I didn't have too much saved on it except some DV footage I'll reload. I bought Nortons and had that running, and read on these threads how bad Nortons affects OSX. And were people right. I haven't had nearly as many crashes with safari and everything else is running smooth. As for WC3, I downloaded and optimizer (which I've done before) and it ran alot smoother. Note it was a 2vs2 game. So I'll let you know how well it runs on a 4vs4. Finally, what Operating System do you guys run it on? OSX or OS9? I would think OS9 would be better since you can allocate memory for it. Also, what settings do play on. Should I turn everything to low? Thanks for all the help.

On my iMac G4 700, WCIII is a little pokey in OSX, but even with max setting it is fluid in 9.
