Wow. I didn't know they gave a Nobel Peace Prize in Science.  roll

It's usually awarded concurrently with the C. Montgomery Burns Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Field Of Excellence.

Re: Is this satire or real?

I'm not reading all 15 pages of this thread, but  I came across this article.  I think it's relevant to answering some of NokX's questions, or not.

why do some descendants of a parent species evolve hundreds of different species, while others produce so few they seem to be practicing family planning?

To a certain extent, the answer lies in simple probability, says Pinelis. Say you have two species of fish swimming in a pond, the carp and the perch, and it might be equally likely that one of them will evolve a third species. Say the goldfish evolves from the common carp, and suddenly you have three fish species in your pond.

Assume again that it is equally likely for the carp, the goldfish and the perch to split into two distinct species. The chances that the carp branch will develop a new species are now double that of the perch branch, because the carp family now has two members.

Having seen the straight denial of facts (ie what darwin actually said and what I have posted) I don't think NokX even understands what truth is.  Answering his questions is not the answer as he will just post some random web site that says hey thats not an answer, and of course random web pages have absolute power over peer reviewed journal articles.

NokX wants the "found link".

if the fossil does not fit, you must vote to acquit.

*runs and points at NokX's gas tank*

the answer is in there, deal with it.  why not have a little faith in science?  or is faith a relative thing for you NokX?  you can pick and chose what to belive in because you are special.

clearly, your idea of truth is faith.  spread it around a little.

No one wants to play anymore.  If every single thing we show you in proof is going to be debunked citing religious -not scientific, but religious- sources as the 'proof' that our evidence is bogus, why should we continue to play your game?

There is no spoon!

if we've been around for 4.3 billion years (or whatever), should there or should there not be countless fossils to show us the transitions?

Find it for yourself.  Take a class.  Look it up. Or continue to stand there like a toddler who has just found his parents putting the presents under the tree at midnight and cry "I don't believe it!"  We're done spoon-feeding you if you're going to ignore everything we give you.

We're on page 15.  Fifteen pages of trying to get the point across.

Why are we still wasting our time?

Ignorance is excusable.  There's too much knowledge to keep up on it all.  That doesn't bother me, though his apparent refusal to open a book by darwin, gould, or dawkins since this debate last came up is rather frustrating.  Its the illogical approach to the subject, and the inane, pissant linking contest that apparently he wants to use are maddening and make it impossible to really find truth.  Finally, his rejection of any sense of truth with those above quotes shows that he really does want to maintain a facade of evolution being flawed, rather than being interested in, as he claims he wants us to do, openmindedly look at the "facts", even if his facts are really lies either he or others made up.  This beyond anything else, has shown me that NokX is an idiot.

Re: Is this satire or real?

again, for the 300th time...  tongue  i'm not trying to prove creationisim.  i'm just telling you all to look at what you think is true (that all life came about by chance and from one lucky little bacteria) and really put some thought into it.

Quit assuming that everyone has the samed flawed understanding of evolution that you do (one little lucky bacteria?).

Nothing to say about your bullsmurf quotes?

Muddy Mudskipper Theme Lyrics

Who's the greatest Mudskipper of them all?
Who can skip through the mud with the greatest of ease?
What kind of wonderful guy
Who can crawl like a dog without scraping his knees?
Who's got segmented eyes?

It's Muddy... Mudskipper!
It's Muddy... Mudskipper!
It's the Muddy...
Mud...
Skipper..
Show!

Re: Is this satire or real?

There's no evidence for evolution?  I find no evidence for creationism.  Actually I think evolution is the explanation for creationism.

No, no, no, you don't understand.  That's the great part of creationism, an essential part of the belief is that there is no proof!  That's why there's faith!  See, everything makes sense now.

Re: Is this satire or real?

yah...because we all have seen the evidence that proves evolution.  oh wait...nevermind.  there is none.

lol, it may not prove it, but it at least "highly suggests" it.  Give me ANY evidence that highly suggests creationism...

did the house you live in evolve from nothing, or did someone build it?

For a group that is generally pro-life, you guys seem to have a hard time differentiating between living and non-living things.

Re: Is this satire or real?

according to the evolutionary theory...  life came from something (they haven't figured that part out yet), and then somehow, that one "organisim" managed to live and duplicate with itself.

And somehow it continues to do so today.  It's called asexual reproduction genius.

then because being an organisim floating around wasn't adequate, it decided to grow fins and gills and because it knew it needed to see, it grew eyes.  then, living in the water wasn't cutting it, so after a few million years of flopping onto land, it grew lungs and fur and/or scales.  some decided to become really slow sloths, some into mosquitos that just live for a day, some into birds after millions of years of attempting to be airborn, and now we have all the billions of species all over the globe we have today.

The strangest thing is that it continues to take place today!  No wonder you need a new flue shot every year and bacteria become resistant to antibiotics.

Re: Is this satire or real?

Without evolution, there can be no extinction.
Or species diversification.
And resistant bacteria strains.

i'm not saying natural selection doesn't occur.  a species can very well be wiped out.  surviving and evolving are two totally different concepts.

and you say, "but that's just it...we evolve to survive"

it only takes a matter of years for an animal to be extinct...  it (according to the evolutionary theory) takes millions and millions for a creature to evolve.

This is the funniest thing, creationists just don't like the word evolution.  They are fine with natural selection, which (with mutation) invariably brings about evolution, but they cannot accept evolution.

Well it would be amusing to see him respond to the outright lying charges, but given his refusal to explain why he feel rudgers is a bad source, I doubt he'll have an intelligent reply.  Of course, that's what i've come to expect from him on most issues.
