Differences between the GL2, VX-2000, and TRV-950
I have been looking extensively at the specs of these models, and really can find very few differences between them. I mean, the 950 has a bigger LCD, and there a a few features like that that are different, but in terms of quality, I haven't found much. All I really have been able to dig up is that the CCD of the VX-2000, GL2, and 950 respectively have 3 1/3" CCDs, 3 1/4" CCDs, and 3 3 1/4.7" CCD's. But Canons claim to have pixel shift Does that technology really make a difference? Also, what is the Hologram AF feature the 950 has? Are there any features that aren't being specified? In general, I find Canon gives much more info than Sony.
Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Differences between the GL2, VX-2000, and TRV-950
Just my two cents:
I own a Sony VX2000 and have really found no flaws with it. Well, actually, I have no base line to compare it with other than Super VHS and Betamax. When it comes down to it though, how much difference is one or two pixels going to make or if one camera shifts to the warmer colors more than another. Damnit I'm babbling again. Anyway...

I agree with you, that's why it's so hard to pick one.

Re: Differences between the GL2, VX-2000, and TRV-950
I use an XM1 (PAL GL1), which is fine apart from the focus ring. I should think that either the VX2000 or GL2 would do well. One thing to note however, is that some users have reported problems with the audio on the VX2000, as I have not used this camera i cannot confirm this. But the VX2000 has bigger CCDs.
Hope this helps.

I don't know how 'different' it would be, as I do not know much about the 950. It does however have the smallest CCDs of the three cameras.

One key difference between the VX2000 and the GL1 (or 2) is that the Canon comes with a feature called "Frame Mode". This will allow you to film in 30fps uninterlaced. It creates a much better "film" look.
