still 
when new displays eventually released:

Is there something wrong with the current ones?
There's a rumour floating around that there will soon be a 30" Apple Cinema Display, which as you know is something every home user desperately needs.
This rumour is looking pretty sound because there are apparently background images for the new display (in its resolution) included in Panther.
Truly rabid display fans would also love a display on an extended arm like the iMac. That's really the perfect display form factor, but of course it's probably tough to do on a huge display :-(. Still, we're hoping for something a bit more imaginative than the current enclosure, which is getting a bit, well, historic.
So those of us who really, really want a huge, ultra-high resolution display are holding on to our budgets and hoping that by the time we have the bucks, Apple will furnish the display.

well said, even if the bit about home users not needing 30 inches of real estate was sarcastic.......a paltry 23 inches? puh-lease!
anyway, for video & coding, bigger = better

that's IT. apple's going to release a 3D Holographic projector that you can touch and feel (ala trek) or somethign that transmits images directly to your brain. or some crazy OLED foldable display that runs on water power in MWSF.
