UT2K3 Mouse Isues

Hey Guys,
Im having mouse trouble with the Demo version of UT2k3, I have a Powermac G4 1Ghz MDD. The app launches and goes all the way to the Main Screen but then the mouse freezes up. I can still navigate through the settings and Instant action screens but I have no mouse control whatsoever. Any Ideas? I Installed a new mouse driver, and re-installed the demo several times but no luck. I really wanna play this thing!!

Re: UT2K3 Mouse Isues

Mouse wired or not? I know that in UT1 the program had alot of issues with loss of contact with the mouse causing the program to freeze up. This often occured with the original M$ mouse when the wire failed at the point of entry into the mouse body. Could be a similar issue here.

Re: UT2K3 Mouse Isues

Sounds like a software problem. Try using USB Overdrive in place of the software you got with your mouse and see what happens.

Re: UT2K3 Mouse Isues

I tried the Override driver, and It didnt change anything. Is there any way to check the .ini or user pref files?

Re: UT2K3 Mouse Isues

Hmmmm... There is nothing in the ini files that I think will help. They are just text files so can be opened with any text editor but if you use TextEdit and make any changes be sure to save as plain text. When you say you can navigate to the settings menu I presume via the key board. I do not know if you can select any of the settings tabs that way also. If you can get into the Input one and check to see what is set. Another way is simply trash the User.ini and the Unreal Tournament.ini files > then start the demo > new ini files will be written but again I kind of doubt that the problem is there.

Which version of OSX are you running? Another thought that just occurred to me is

Re: UT2K3 Mouse Isues

Before you put UT2K3 together with Panther look at this. The indication from Ryan Gordon's web log is that it is a problem with Panther + ATI vid cards
