PNG support

I'm making my new site, and I'm relying heavily on PNGs because I need the 32 bit transparency. Most browsers handle them OK, but not IE on a PC. Instead of transparency, all I see is a neutral gray where there should be nothing.

Even odder, this only occurs on the PNGs I uploaded. I've got PHP and GD creating dynamic PNGs, and those show up perfectly - transparency and all.

I don't mind the fact that older browsers can't see my site (they couldn't handle the CSS / JavaScript anyway) but 80% of the world uses IE PC...

Is there any way to improve compatibility? Save the images differently or something? Or perhaps run all PNGs through GD... any suggestions?

Re: PNG support

This should be a sticky.  I asked first, and since then, it's been asked at least four more times.

Woh, that's a cool link

If only I wouldn't taken the time to search for this on google... then perhaps I wouldn't have had to compromise a few designs of mine.

Re: PNG support

On that page there is also to a modifed version that handles transparency in backgrounds as well  ( http://allinthehead.com )

Sleight works great, it is does slow things down a tiny bit in IE6 because it rerenders the page, but it is worth it for the flexibiliy.
