Re: Jessica Alba is BACK!
Why would we want that, though? She's all bony and skinny and stuff.
"we" implies that you're talking about more than just you, twisty.
[edit]unless you're polyschizophrenic. That would be cool. Do the voices tell you to do bad things?

Being as how it was in response to Thin Shadow's comment, I placed it in a plural form. If I had said "you" I would have implied that I was applying my opinion explicitly to him. "We" takes it out of that context, generalizes it, and allows me to include myself.
It's far different from berating someone because their opinion differs from your own.
Polyschizophrenic isn't an actual disorder, either, but that's beside the point.

I'm allowed to have an opinion, regardless of what you think.
Not when your opinion is wrong!
Yes, and apparently not subscribing to the exact same school of thought as JohnWilliams is not only wrong, but a crime against humanity.

Re: Jessica Alba is BACK!
The judgmental and unfair comment is a bit unfair, though. I don't think she's attractive. Period. End of story. There's nothing wrong with thinking a bony woman with no figure is unattractive and has an unwomanly appearance. I find people with certain physical attributes physically attractive, and people with other certain physical attributes physically unattractive. Is having an opinion and liking some things and disliking others so wrong? When did opinions become bad things?
That's the problem. It wasn't end of story. You went on to say she looked like an emaciated 12 year old boy and that was a personal attack. And dont think by my tone that I'm doing any more than playing devil's advocate. I've got nothing invested in Jessica Alba I just think you're wrong for taking digs at someone who can't defend themselves.
And John...I'm curious why people's opinions are so offensive and threatening to you? Does my finding Jessica Alba unattractive actually threaten you in some way? You act as if I had made fun of your mother, or ran over your cat and laughed while doing it. I guess given the age you act half the time, it's very likely that Jessica Alba would be just the right age to be your mother, so perhaps I'm not too far off the mark.
Now you're judging me by the way I "act half the time" in an online forum as some measure of my maturity and your taking a personal jab. Oh the hypocrisy.

And now you're putting words in my mouth. I never said it was bad to differ from my opinion. But I have the right to express myself, just as you do.

Don't misunderstand, I do think you're wrong in thinking she has no curves or no figure, or that she looks like a 12 year old boy.
She doesn't have Jennifer Lopez's ass or Jennifer Connelly's curves, but she's a far cry from thin celebrities like Gwynneth Paltrow or Nicole Kidman.
I do think it's stupid to argue about how women are attractive or not though. Some people like horseradish, some people don't. I try not to question it.

Re: Jessica Alba is BACK!
And you're judging her on things she can't control. She has no control over the width of her hips or her cup size. She's very athletic and in good shape. Bony and muscular are two very different things. And you can use the "magazines are photoshoped" excuse if you want, but you're being very judgmental and unfair to her. She doesn't look anything like a boy. Just because she isn't some rubenesque vision of beauty doesn't mean she isn't attractive. She has a very womanly figure and carries herself in a very feminine way.
Ah geez, John . . . just because you think she's attractive doesn't mean TG has to subscribe to the same belief. He has the right to be judgmental and unfair if he wants.
That's not at all what I'm saying. Do I think she's attractive? Sure, but that's not my point. My point is he's applying his narrow view of beauty to her and taking shots at her for no reason. An emaciated 12 year old boy? C'mon.
What you really meant to say:
Twisty is equating his personal viewpoint with fact. He tends to do that a lot, but usually will keep either insulting or otherwise putting down the other person in the argument until he gets his own way. This will not stand, I say!
or something to that effectWow...like...shut up.
Yes, I don't think she's attractive, but I never said no one else could find her attractive, and I never made a personal attack against anyone simply because their opinion differs from mine.
I'm the one being attacked simply because I don't find her attractive. I'm allowed to have an opinion, regardless of what you think.
But calling people with regular body shapes 'emaciated 12 year old boys with A or B cup breasts' is rather harsh.
1. Instill fear.
2. ???????? (use your imagination)
3. Profit!

How anyone can like horseradish is beyond me.
And thanks so much for bringing it up, djm. Now I'm having flashbacks involving painful urination.

Are you sure that wasn't just the gonorrhea?

Man that was funny.
Oh and I like horseradish. Gonorrhea is too sweet.

Re: Jessica Alba is BACK!
The "emaciated 12 year old boy" thing was hyperbole and a jab at the whole notion that women have to be skinny to be consider beautiful if they're a model or an actress. It's obvious that she doesn't look like some starving kid from Ethiopia. She is, however, quite skinny, and quite bony.
But calling people with regular body shapes 'emaciated 12 year old boys with A or B cup breasts' is rather harsh.
I wouldn't call her body shape anything close to regular or average. Regular for Hollywood, but out in the real world, women tend to have hips and breasts.
She doesn't have Jennifer Lopez's ass or Jennifer Connelly's curves, but she's a far cry from thin celebrities like Gwynneth Paltrow or Nicole Kidman.
Or even worse Calista Flockhart or Lara Flynn Boyle.
Jessica Alba is practically cherubic compared to those two.
I just don't think Alba's a knockout. Don't care if anyone sees it differently. It's a rather subjective thing.

Still...Twisted Guy...it is just not nice to utter such harsh words towards people. Particularly people you have never met. I mean, your rights to an opinion are fine. I don't share a lot of opinions with the choice of women/men of other MAF users, but I will be hesitant before uttering such harsh words.
