ADS Pyro A/V Link, right choice?

Greetings,

I have recently found that I enjoy making movies on DVD's with iMovie/iDVD.  I have a bunch of VHS tapes and would like to transfer some of them over to digital.  I'm using a G4 1gb dual (MDD) and would like to know if the ADS Pyro A/V Link is the right choice for this, or is there something better/cheaper?

Thanks!

I have the PYRO A/V Link and it workd perfectly. It has both RCA and Composite Video inputs and works great with iMovie. You do have to set the breakers in the back correctly (1:Up , 2:Down , 3:Down , 4:Down) for the best results. Oh yeay... unlike Dazzle, Pyro lets you import clips from commercial movies too. So on your next home movie you can have John McLain say "Yippie ki yeah mother f*****"

I got it off eBay for about $120

Well worth the price.

If you already have a digital video camera, check the manual and see if it has any svideo or RCA video in ports.  Most newer cameras have this.  If your camera has this feature, all you have to do is connect the VCR to the camera via S-Video or the RCA port, and then connect the camera to your computer via Firewire.  The camera will act as a bridge, and you can import your video into iMovie.
