Ok, I know I shouldn't be supporting this blatant http://members.cox.net/registered_user/maxes/spam.gif

but this app really is gold.  It's one of the few shareware programs that I paid for almost immediately.  I use it to record streaming audio so I can listen to it on my iPod whenever I want.  I have some NPR shows I like to listen to, and it's great to have them whenever I want them.

YAh.  I used it to record SJ's keynote speech.  The result:  a 1.5 GB AIFF file.  Peh.

To be equal you have to add or subtract.  And I have never liked math.  People who want to be equal's lives are filled with subtractions and auditions.  We will call you back and tell you. - MM

Take said AIFF file, open it in iTunes, then select Advanced > Convert Selection to MP3...

Foolish mortal.  Do not doubt me.

Re: Try Audio HiJack!!!!!

I would have done that, but...

I recorded it onto an external FW HD (i have about 1.2 gigs left on my internal hd), I tried to open it in iTunes and it wouldn't copy (not enough space).

Aw well.  I used Audion to convert it.  At least it can convert without adding it to a library.

So now I have the entire 2.5 hour SJ speech in iTunes!  If only I could turn it into Audible format, then I could bookmark my place.

There is an option in the iTunes prefs whether or not to copy audio files to the library when opened.  You could have turned it off...  There's always next time! wink

Re: Try Audio HiJack!!!!!

Is this still the way all the cool kids are recording streaming audio? Any other alternatives, especially free ones? Is there a way to make the current version of iTunes (4.1) or Toast record streaming audio?

If you can't say something nice, say it in Yiddish.
