17" PowerBook, Expose and fn keys
Does anyone know if there is a way to make the F-9,10,11 keys on a PowerBook with an illuminated keyboard run Expose without having to press the fn key?
My boss has a new 17" and asked me that question (I don't have that problem on my 12").
In essence, is there a way to reverse the brightness, volume etc. keys to require the use of the function (fn) key instead of by default?
Thanks.

uControl, but I'm not sure if it supports fkeys beyond F5 yet.

Hey, thank BB. I also found a kernel extension called DoubleCommand. Doesn't work in Panther, yet.
I'll check out your suggestion.

Re: 17" PowerBook, Expose and fn keys
What about changing the keys that Expose works with. I have found that the two keys I use most often are the F9 and F11. Since F11 already works just fine you could simply remap the all windows command to F12. Then you would only have to use the Fn key for F10.

It's not a real fix but you could set up screencorners to trigger the Expose effects. This is nice for the minimize effect but that's the only one I use as a corner. The other two aren't used enough or it's easier to use them from the keyboard.

That is because you don't have a backlit keyboard. If you did then you would immediately notice that the F8, F9, F10 keys are reserved for keyboard backlight controls.

Oh wow, terribly sorry! Pardon my ignorance!
I'm feeling pretty sheepish right about... now.
