Re: Next Imac revision what's in store

I don't think the iMac will ever have dual processors. No need for it.

However, I do think that it will be a non-portable desktop, like the first iMacs were. A laptop chip, maybe not laptop ram (SIMMS) but actual DDR-RAM, but I don't see why a G5 iMac is so far off, along with books at the same time.

Although, a whole series of Books just came out.

We'll see, we'll see.

a low end G5 in the iMacs once IBM bumps the speed on the chips for the pro machines is possible. I see Apple wanting to distance themselves from Motorola at the moment.

Re: Next Imac revision what's in store

the only possibility i see for the imac is a G4 speed boost, nothing more. There aren't enough G5 speeds to spread around. Maybe once the G5 gets a few speed boosts, abandons a few speeds, the iMac can move in

Re: Next Imac revision what's in store

There's been a major case revision every two years since the iMac's inception. Another one would make perfect sense.

G5 books are a long ways away, but new iMacs could realistically come out early next year (along with Rev. B G5s).

But aluminum? It appeared that Apple was saving the krylon for consumers and the metals for pros.

Unless they do the same thing they did to fruity colors.
