Jaguar to Win2k - How do I set up a password in 2k?
Double post-- need a fast response:
I can recognize my roomate's Wintel machine running 2k (Jaguar/Rendevous is awesome), connect, but when it asks for a username/password, we don't know where to set one up in 2k. I just hit okay and it gives me this error:
Connecting to smb//:etc etc
An error has occurred (error = -5023)
Where can I set up a password in 2k?
In and around the lake,
Mountains come out of the sky
And they stand there!

In 2000 Professional, go to the Control Panel (Start/Settings/Control Panel) and open the "Administrative Tools" folder.
Double click on computer management. Once Computer Management console opens, select the "Users and Groups" pod on the tree.
Right click on the "users" folder and select "New User". Assign a logical username and a password, then use it when you login to the 2k machines share(s).

Thanks! It didn't work, but I appreciate it.
We just set up an account on this side. Knock up another win for Mac-- easy networking that works!

"it didn't work" is insufficient. Please let me know HOW it didn't work. Did I mislabel a container? (Possible, I typed that from memory...)
Were you logged into Win2k as an admin account? If not, you won't have access to the computer management MMC...
