Re: Mac/McDonald's iTunes nonsense...
And I do NOT want my Mac to be mass market like McDonald's. I don't want Mac to become the dominant OS. Because then people will start writing virii for my platform. No thanks.
People don't choose Microsoft to target a virus against because more people use it. They choose Windows because it has the security holes that are easily attacked and hacked.

Strange. Do you act this way when you are talking to people in person? If someone does not simply listen to what you have to say and agree do you tell them they need psychiatric help??? If so, you must not have much of a social life....

Thats just not the way it works.

I already got my drugs.
BTW, how do you determine whether someone is depressed or not on the BBS? Please be specific because I actually want to know. Do you just use generalizations (iEEE, most people online being depressed) or what?

Today's definition of insanity:
Someone that starts a discussion topic but doesn't actually want anyone to discuss it with them......sound like anyone here???
anyone?
anyone?

. . . . . calling someone a bitch, telling them "smurf you", calling them "hellastupid", etc.
where's the discussion?
my criteria for determining depression from responses to my post - the hostility, the rage. the knee jerk reaction when someone says something, anything. the fact that your Forum handle is I HATE YOU is a pretty clear indicator. the fact that you reacted in such a defensive manner when i made a remark about clinical depression. in hindsight, perhaps that was not the most considerate thing i could say but at that point we were just having a "wacky, zany" discussion about how vegetarians are fools. but then suddenly that turned into "smurf You" and "Stupid bitch". not a discussion and certainly not very adult.
i made an observation. i expressed an opinion. i said that i wasn't terribly thrilled with the idea of Apple and McDonald's being associated. i have personal and political views that diverge from your own. when i express those opinions, i don't expect to have someone jump down my throat. however, i've learned my lesson. from this point on, i'll stick to posting web development questions and leave the rest of the Forum to you.
you win.
are you happy now?

Whoa nelly, did you miss the boat on the way to work today. Are you blind? It seems to me as an observer that the name calling you are referring to was a sarcastic reaction to you saying:
we need a Moderator/Psychiatrist for this Forum. you guys are displaying all the characteristics of clinical depression.
TRUCE!
You basically called everyone here clinically depressed and in the very next breath you said: TRUCE!
The responses that you got after that were a direct sarcastic response. Please note:
You're a stupid bitch.
TRUCE.
smurf YOU!
TRUCE!
You didn't notice how they did the exact same thing you did just to prove a point? You were mean and nasty, then said TRUCE!
And you didn't expect a mean and nasty response? Get a grip and goodbye. You obviously don't play well with others.

Re: Mac/McDonald's iTunes nonsense...
the knee jerk reaction when someone says something, anything.
I think the main reason I'm continuing to respond to you is because a) today is laundry day and there's nothing good on TV and b) It's easy.
Anyway, I made no knee jerk reaction. I commented, cryptically by two links, that greenpeace does not seem to be high up there on the list of ethical corporations. There's GreenSpirit, started by the guy who founded greenpeace, why not follow them?
Oh yeah, marketing.
the fact that your Forum handle is I HATE YOU is a pretty clear indicator
It's a fact that my forum handle is iHate You, as in iMac, iPod, iBook. It's humor. It's humor you don't get but some people do. It may or may not be an indicator that I'm depressed. I don't know how many people who would laugh at my handle are depressed. I don't really care, either.
the fact that you reacted in such a defensive manner when i made a remark about clinical depression.
It's a fact that I reacted, but not defensively. You can think I'm depressed. Chances are, I am. It's an epidemic, after all. People are unhappy all over.
we were just having a "wacky, zany" discussion about how vegetarians are fools.
Who was? Me? I wasn't. I also don't recall anyone else bashing vegetarians.
I recall you pulling "facts" from seemingly nowhere. I've also seen you say on these boards that you like to test people by saying things that will incite a reaction. Perhaps you are trying to manipulate people on these boards because you have little control over your own destiny or how others treat you in real life.
but then suddenly that turned into "smurf You" and "Stupid bitch". not a discussion and certainly not very adult.
Neither is your manipulation. How can anyone even trust you when you spout out things with no substantiated evidence? How can anyone trust you when you say you deliberately manipulate? How can they trust you if you support an organization like greenpeace?
when i express those opinions, i don't expect to have someone jump down my throat.
No one jumped down your throat. I think you're either very young or very neurotic. I can forgive either, I suppose. I can't forgive you if you respond with, "ha ha, i was testing you guys. AGAIN."
I'm going to slap your ass so hard, your bell-bottoms will be ringing.

Re: Mac/McDonald's iTunes nonsense...
the more you go on and on ... the more you prove my point.
quit while you're behind.
my criticisms were a direct response to "hellastupid" and other remarks. if you want to pretend you aren't angry, go ahead. denial is common response. i just can't believe that a whimsical remark regarding McDonald's has fomented this ridiculous thread. this Forum is an excellent example of how mob rule manifests itself. one remark and now there's this frenzy of hate.
this is ridiculous.
re: the "cryptic" response
i liked the link written by the guy who worked for the International Whaling Group or whatever. if anyone can be unbiased about whaling activity, its someone who works for an international consortium of people who make their living by hunting whales.
you're so gullible. servile. banal. puerile.
i feel like a substitute teacher at a junior high school. mediating a dispute between a couple of children. if you had any class at all, you'd apologize for calling me a stupid bitch. i think that's outside the bounds of "discussion". i think that without this Forum you'd have no outlet for your anger.
this is SO ridiculous.
you win. congratulations iLamers.

Re: Mac/McDonald's iTunes nonsense...
I heard once that if everyone was a vegetarian we could eliminate world hunger by using land previously devoted to raising livestock to grow vegetarian staple foods. For this reason I think vegetarianism is preferable to mass-market meat consumption, although I still eat meat. For you see, it tastes good and I have little compunction over killing less developed species to feed myself.
