MP3 cd options and time/space limits...

how many hours of mp3's can i burn onto an mp3 cd in iTunes? I know it depends on quality, but assuming most or all are 128-160kbps, how many? Also, I have Toast Titanium but don't see an mp3 cd option -what's the best way, if any, to burn one that'll work in an mp3 cd dvd player or car cd player?

Thanks...

It depends on the bit-rate you are using. Why not burn a playlist from iTunes? I find that is the easiest solution. I average around 8 1/2 hours worth of MP3's at 128 kbps.

For MP3 CDs in Toast, select a data disc.

Re: MP3 cd options and time/space limits...

I can fit an average of 150 songs on an MP3 cd which is 8-10 hours of music.

Basically, at 128kbps each minute takes up .9375MB of space so on a 700MB CD you could fit 185 songs.

At 160kbps (the rate I use) each minute takes up 1.17MB of space so on a 700MB CD you could fit 150 songs.

The calculation in case you are interested is:

kbps encoding * 60(seconds in a minute) = kilo bits per minute (kbpm)

kbpm/8 = KB per minute

KB/1024 = MB per minute
