Check out Reason 2.0 from www.propellerheads.se

It's a great  to do beat-oreinted composition, and only cost about $200.

It'll do sampling and drum programming, sequencing, as well as provide great keyboard sounds PLUS it has effects and mixing.  They even have a demo you can dowload.

Also, and I mean this in a nice way:  Your message would get more attention if you took another couple of seconds to format it, spell a few more words correctly, and add in some punctuation.  neutral

good luck,

dave

Sentences are a wonderful thing Sween, try using them tongue

Seriously, Reason 2 probably isn't what he wants seeing that he wants do recording. You can record and mix with Cubase with Rewire, but for beginners, I wouldn't recommend it. If you're quite comfortable with playing your current musical instruments, then you might try using a multitrack editor, such as Protools, and move on from there. If you're out to create ground up original music (Sorry, turntablism is much of an art but generally you're using a pre created drum track and what not), then Reason is the way to go. You'll want a Midi keyboard to compliment it of course. The real question is are you just looking to record stuff or compose as well?

For now, download Protools Free, (search for it in versiontracker.com), I'm guessing this is what you're looking for
