Burning a VCD

How can I burn a VCD on my iBook? What software will I need, if any? And last of all, Will I need a DVD burner or just a CD burner?

Re: Burning a VCD

You'll need Toast Titanium 5.14 or later to burn a VCD.  Assuming you already have the video in a Quicktime formate, Toast will encode the movie into mpeg2 format.  All you need is a CD Burner.  I would give yourself a fair amount of time to encode the video.  On my old Cube it would take several hours (anywhere from 6 to 10 hours :!: ) to encode a one hour movie, on a G3 iBook it will take at least as long.  Of course, smaller movies will take a lot less time.  I would normally let it work overnight.  Once the video's been encoded it takes as long as a regular CD to burn.  Hope that helps..

Toast is the only one that I know about. The nice thing is, Toast comes with a little plugin for iMovie which lets you export it directly.

And yesh, expect major waits for rendering. But if you get annoyed, think of how long it'd take to render a DVD!

VCD Builder is available at versiontracker.com, and has a nice interface, but I don't exactly know what I'm doing sad

There are other software options available.

Buck up, man! Believe in yourself! Confidence, confidence, confidence! You'll never know the blush of a sweet young thing without it.
