How are you doing?

How are you feeling right now?  How are things going in your life?  Are you happy?  I ask because I care.

up Good, lots of homework to do this weekend, but the job interview I had on Thursday went well.  I won't know how well until around mid December though...

Great. I'm getting divorced.

Trust me, this is a good thing.

couldn't be happier. Walking on air.

God I cant wait to sign the damned papers and get back to enjoying life instead of hating every freaking minute of it.

Other wise things are great. Just polished off a six pack and smoked a little weed so I'm feeling better now.

Re: How are you doing?

I have a leak in a pipe coming out of my waterheater.
It leaks so much that if I don't empty the bucket under it every few hours it overflows.

I need a new water heater anyway - but I was hoping to put that off for awhile.

Other than that - I haven't used eBat in eons.
Today I won an auction for a brand new CD still in shrinkwrap - for $2.00
It's an OOP album, that didn't get good reviews (the one track on it I'm interested in is the only track that everyone seems to like - it's a compilation CD but this track by this artist is ONLY on this CD)

So I'm happy about that.

I'm winning another auction for an OOP CD I have that is damaged - this is a better album, it sells used for about $30.00 normally - but it looks like I can get for about $10.00 so that makes me happy. Assuming no one outbids me in the next 18 hours.

I don't get to go home (family) for Thanksgiving - but I do get to go back in December, assuming my house sitter can be here. So I'm happy about that.

Re: How are you doing?

Oh - yeah - and one more thing.
The other day I got ahold of a rare OOP vinyl record from 1985 that has NEVER been opened. And it's an album I really like - I have the cassette tape - but my cassette tape is in poor condition (after years of use/abuse) - so I'm happy about that.

I don't have a turntable yet - I was going to buy one next month - but with the water heater and all, the record will remain unopened a bit longer (and then get ripped to digital - it was never released on CD)

My frogs are fat - which is good - so I'm happy about that big_smile

Re: How are you doing?

Oooh...an opportunity for catharsis!

I am blessed.
I have a wonderful wife, three great kids, a great cat, a job, two working vehicles, a modest house, and we're all staying fed and clothed.

I am stressed.
Our vehicles are both in various states of disrepair, depending on...(moon phases? I dunno); neither my wife nor I ever seem to have enough time for school, work, home, and the kids (so school and home are suffering for both of us); my ex is trying to get back custody of my oldest son; we're barely scraping by paycheck to paycheck; we're in the 10th month of what should've been a 3-week home renovation; the holidays are going to be very sparse around our house; I'm overweight to the point that my health is threatened; my sex life is nonexistent; I hate my job; my mom is slowly killing herself.

I'm a mess.

It seems I have plenty to be thankful for, but at the same time, I have more than I can handle.

Re: How are you doing?

I'm OK.  Going home in 30 minutes (yippe!) to spend some actual time with my parents.  This will be the first time I've really seen them since August and I really miss them.

Kind of stressed out about Thanksgiving.  My entire familiy is coming to our house, which means 30 some odd people for dinner.  Including a bunch of kids under 10.  My stepmum wanted to know if I wanted to celebrate my birthday that night; the immediate answer was "no!".  Things are gonna be hectic enough.

Stressed out about class.  It's pretty pathetic when you dream of getting an "F" grade back...  Although if that's what passes for nightmares these days, so be it.

What's up, dream?

Re: How are you doing?

I can't wait for this semester to end. I'm flying back to see my folks this holidays, I really miss them it's been a year since the last time.

Now I have to go write about hot electrons.

Re: How are you doing?

blech.

Working 50+ hours a week, have no ambition, no friends, but plenty of money. Money is a byproduct of my boredom; I work as much overtime as I can get.

Parents con me into fixing stuff around the house, including major plumbing work last month.  I spent 12 hours in the crawlspace replacing 150-some feet of leaky corroded copper pipe with PVC, and my dad still doesn't appreciate what I did. The fumes from the primer/cement made me feel good, though shrug

The only two friends I had during high school joined the military, and since I do nothing  but work, I don't meet anyone new. My coworkers just want to go out and get wasted every night.

Oh well, I'm only 19, so I guess I have plenty of time to 'enjoy' life.  neutral

My iPod and copy of Panther still haven't arrived, they were due on Thursday and now they won't get here until at least Monday. The company Apple use for deliveries in the UK are absolutely abysmal. Apart from that I'm okay I s'pose.

Re: How are you doing?

Wow, I started this thread last night when I was tired and depressed, and really didn't think anyone would care enough to reply.  Thanks to those who did.  For those of you that asked (thank you), I've been better, but I really shouldn't complain.  In the greater scheme of things, I am fantastic,  I guess, but in my current state, not so great.  I feel as though I'm getting depressed again.  I don't really like it here at school in DC.  I miss my friends from home, and I feel like I'm just kind of stalling out here.  I'm doing well in school, but I don't like it.  I don't really feel as though there's anyone here I can relate to, and I'm three hours away from my friends.  I don't even know if I want to be in college, but I feel as though it's not my choice, but a choice my parents are making for me.  I have this desire to just run away and never look back, but I know I might regret that later on.  In any case, I really feel as though I want something other than being here, and I've been listening to "Touch of Grey" nonstop for a while.  I also had a panic attack, a mild one, last night for the first time in quite a while.  Ok, sorry for the bitching, but yeah, that's how I'm feeling.

Oh, by the way, I started this thread because it had been a long time since someone asked me that question and really meant it.  I thought that it would be the same for most of the other people on here.  And I meant it.  I read everyone's post.  I guess life just doesn't always go the way you want it to, but I think it really should.  I don't know, it's difficult, I guess.  Maybe the best thing to do is to just be thankful for the few things that are going well.  At the same time though, I think that if there's something you can do to change or improve your situation, you should go for it.  It's your one chance at life, you know?  So, I hope things get better for those of you who were displeased with you life, I honestly do.
