Re: is an iPod worth the price?
Having had iPods of various capacities ever since the original 5 GB iPod, I can't really imagine ever using any other MP3/AAC/whatever audio player.
"Various"? "Ever since"? Didn't the iPod come out just two years ago? How is it you've had multiple iPods in so short a time, and what do you do with them if you no longer have them all??
Sell them.

Re: is an iPod worth the price?
there reasons to get an iPod:
iPod
iPod MP3 Player
Belkin Voice Recorder
Portable Speakers
Belkin Media Reader
FM Tuner
Batter Pack
Wireless Remote Control
The list goes on and on and on and on...
The Dell Player:
Dell Digital DJ
Dell DJ Speakers
Wired remote
The rest of the accesories consist of cases (that the iPod has no shortage of) and cables and stuff, even though you can get by with generic standard cables most of the time. (standard audio jack, regular speakers, etc.)
The Gateway Player
Gateway DMP-X20
Tunecast Mobile FM Transmitter
I would like to quote the above link:
Now you can use your iPod to listen to your favorite tunes through any FM stereo receiver.
Oops.
Other than this, I cannot find anything unique to the Gatewar player. This alone makes the iPod king.

Why pay for things you can get for free?
oh wait... let me rephrase that... things I can get for free... and I'm sure lots of other people too. Why go spend that much at a strib club and nastys?

Re: is an iPod worth the price?
Me and my GF have 3 now, 10g, 20g, and a 30g. I am going to give the 10g one to my brother...
My girlfriend bought a 10gig, and I bought a 20 gig for myself. I later bought a 30gig 3g, and gave the 20gig to my gf.
Next time you buy an iPod, can I be your girlfriend for a day?

Strip club.
Why spend money at one when you could make a whole lot working at one? My friend makes enough money to buy 2 iPods an hour at the Foxy Lady.

Re: is an iPod worth the price?
I was fairly big on the iPod and I still think it's probably the best mp3 player out there, but the non-replaceable battery has gotten to me. What happens when the battery goes up?

You buy a replacement off the net for $50 and stick it in. There are instructions all over.

Or you buy last-generation's iPod for $150 and use your old one like a floppy.

Or you could blend the two together to make a weird 3G iPod with 1G battery.
