Which is better: Radeon 8500 or Radeon 9000?
Which is a better graphics card, the Radeon 8500 or Radeon 9000? And where can I buy one for $150 or under? Thanks

The 8500, which is soon to be renamed as the 9100 so people dont get confused anymore.

Hector, if you were able to do so, then you'd probably land a job working as a hardware engineer for one of many tech outfits. I would venture to say that such an upgrade is impossible due to many unknowns with the iMac's Bios rom and mobo config.
As for the 8500 vs 9000, at tomshardware.com, the 9000 in a few scenerios was a bit faster but over all the 8500 had the edge in almost all tasks. For the Mac, the 9000 packs an ADC port, thus making it the only non-OEM graphics card to feature an ADC port. The 9000 also has a DVI port and a DVI to VGA adapter. The 8500 packs a DVI and VGA port, and a VGA to DVI adapter plus S-Vid out. Both cards can drive dually monitors but the 8500 can only use one monitor when using S-Vid out.
Its more or less an issue of the connectivity, if you have an ADC LCD, then you want the 9000.
