Game type
Heh this is such a n00bular question, but here goes . When on the server list for rtcw mp, what does the game type mean? I believe there is cw, mp, and some other things. Are they designating mods or what? 
...but hey, what do I know

You mean cp, mp and sw?
CP = Check Point, a type of Capture the Flag.
MP = Multiplayer, your average game.
SW = StopWatch, same as multiplayer but teams swap every few games.
