Re: Halo Division thread
I got Halo just a couple of hours ago. So far, its been pretty good. I tried to play the first level in Ledgendary, and promptly got my ass kicked buy a trio of Elites. From there I proceeded to play multiplayer.
It runs decently on my 1GHZ G4, 1024 MB Ram, Radeon 9000 Pro. I ran a timedemo, but I never figured out how the hell to get all the numbers to show up. The only real time when performance dropped (noticably) was in the mess hall for a couple of seconds. Weither it was due to loading... I'll never know.
Framerates were better in multiplayer.
I was more or less happy with multiplayer.
One thing that pissed me off was that the server I played on had all vehicals enabled. Sure that sounds like a great thing... until you start playing. Certain people would fight for vehicals (killing their own team for the banshee was common). When you didn't have a vehical, you had better be on high ground, otherwise you were liable to be run over. This problem would have been easily solved if the admin would just take away some the vehicals. In blood Gulch, you don't need a Banshee, 2 Warthogs, numerous Ghosts, and a Tank FOR EACH TEAM.
Teamspeak would massively improve this game.
I'm happy with the game, and now eargerly await 1.03.

Re: Halo Division thread
I've noticed that in Halo multiplayer that after you play a round on a server, it boots you and that's it. It's up to you to reconnect.
Is there not a way to set up the server similar to JKII? Where once you're connected you can stay connected until you sign off or are booted?

So why don't we both either stand up and fight
Or at least together we'll call it a night.

I don't get booted until I leave or the server shuts down.

Re: Halo Division thread
Mac 1.03 may take a little longer. PC 1.03 was found to cause numerous problems, 'patch's patch' killed all saved checkpoints within a level. PC quickly upped to 1.031, but damage done- savegame problem permanent.
Players advised to finish level they are on before patching- not simple on Legendary. Also problem hit everyone who did MP; auto-update automatic when connecting for MP.
I haven't done MP, but 1.03 had already killed my final saves. Drat QA.
Bundy, Timedemo mode isn't just turning on the framerate counter, so you get no printed stats. It runs 4 cutscenes, so is a bit of a spoiler, best avoided by folks who haven't finished at least once.

Re: Halo Division thread
So far I have not been able to find halo mac at my local comp usa , but I play it daily on my pc. I really enjoy the multiplayer games. Team King of the hill and CTF are by far my favorites I am going to do some reading to see what is involved in setting up a halo server. I talked to my boss today and he said he might be able to spare some of our t3's bandwidth. I will get back to you on that one .
I am thinking that the Halo players need to get together in the irc chat room. A session of chatting and brain storming might help us organize this in a way that makes it fun and unique. Ear drop me a line please.

Re: Halo Division thread
I'm gonna be kind of busy this weekend, christmas shopping and such, but I do think that would be a good idea.
Maybe after christmas?
