pcm to aiff

Does anyone know a way to change a PCM- audio file into an AIFF ? I''ve tried "PCM to AIFF Drop Convert", but I can't find out where this app stores the new file. Or how to change that location.
Other app or do I do something wrong ?

What software are you using?  What do you have available to you?

Re: pcm to aiff

As said, I use "PCM to AIFF drop convert". I don't know of any other app that will do the same (or better  smile ) job. Where would you try to find such apps ? Still any help is welcome. It's not done yet.

I didn't realize that was a program.  I thought it was a command of a program like pro tools or peak.  I don't really know then.

Re: pcm to aiff

If you mean converting something on a CD to AIFF, then set your computer up so it does nothing when you insert a music CD, and then you can use PeakDV to import and save as a AIFF.

Re: pcm to aiff

No, a CD usually contains audio in AIFF or CDDA format. What I have is a part of a multimedia file. It is a so called Pulse Code Modulation file. That means it somehow is connected to a video-twin. You can separate those, and then you get this PCM. Now I want to convert this to some other format. AIFF, MP3, CDDA..... whatever iTunes can handle. Even a AC3 would do now....  confused

Re: pcm to aiff

Sony used to use PCM for all of their video stuff (I think).  Maybe you can load it into Final Cut, and export it as an AIFF, and then to MP3.  Post a thread on 2-pop forums.  Somebody there could probably hook you up.

My mistake (even though I think CDs are PCM audio).  Have you tried to load into PeakDV?  You might want to try a program called SoundHack.

Re: pcm to aiff

I'll try those two options. Thanks for helping me.

Bit later:.... sorry. don't have FCP and soundhack doesn't import PCM. Where do I find this forum you mentioned ?
