What was funny is the link to the lawyer points to a nonexistent website:

Re: News Item: iPod Class Action Lawsuit

Sorry for the second post...

OK, from what I'm getting, Apple is offering a "replace yer iPod service" for $99 (and this is for the same problem that is in the lawsuit).  Am I to assume that people are suing Apple so this becomes a free service?

In all fairness, I should hope Apple makes easily replaceable batteries and soon.  But this also makes me want to ask what the hell these people are doing to their iPods to kill them so fast?  Granted it sounds like I'm giving Apple the pass on this, but it is a fair question.  It's also fair to say that Apple is at fault for not making easily replaceable batteries like they do in the iBook and PowerBook.  I don't want to dissect my iPod just to replace the battery.

I chose Undecided.  I believe a good solution would be for Apple to sell disassembly kits and replacement batteries.  Perhaps $40 for the kit and $25 for the battery.

Perhaps if it was $40 altogether you'd have a winner there.
