i've had a couple of games close down, but never any time other than between maps, so i didn't bother trying to reconnect (wondering if the server was actually down or if i'd screwed up). i'm on a wireless dsl connection behind 2 firewalls and didn't have to set any advanced internet options (ports, etc.) to play online... it might be some third party thing they've got installed. or it could be a slight incompatibility between the mac client and the pc server that only randomly manifests itself. i'll pay more attention in the next few days and see if i can find servers that have mysteriously closed down...

yeah, it happened last night to me on one server twice. it'll only happen while the maps are changing... it's kinda like the connection lags out while the server is changing maps. it was rather annoying, as it always messes with the ctf strategy to have people join late. my guess is most of these servers are cracked 1.02 pc servers or just pc servers that haven't been updated yet. i've seen one or two saying they were mac servers, but never joined 'em because the pings were too bad.

I haven't had any problems like that playing on my PC (but then again, I've only gotten online multiplayer to work once, and I've played just a handful of LAN games).
I'm thinking it probably is a Mac/PC networking issue, either between different versions or some hitherto unknown bug.

someone should probably send a bug report or some such thing to the appropriate place, as this is something i'd like to get addressed as soon as possible
