Who has the lowest hardware possible?
I'm running it on a 04/2002 revision TiBook, 667mhz and an unknown 32mb ATI card. Do we have anyone running it on any slower hardware?

I could install it on my old B&W G3/450, if it would make you feel better.

If you can play it with more than 0.5 fps then i'll be happy
I have to skip the processor warning by pressing "p" everytime i start Halo

First Gen 12 in PowerBook 867Mhz/640Ram.
Plays pretty decent over airport. I wonder if I plug in the ethernet cable if network performance will improve?

Unless your airport is as slow as a slug stuck in glue frozen in time it's not going to make any difference. Think of your Internet connection. If you have a 1Mb (megabit) connection it would no way fill up your airport connection which would most likely be 11Mb. (unless you got extreme) So even if your using all of your connection up, then your still using only 1/11 of your airport.
On the otherhand if your transferring files with your buddies over a lan, if your ethernet is 100BT, then yea, it's gonna be faster.

Actually wifi can introduce a bit of latency.. Doesn't matter that the bandwidth isn't saturated. If you want a bit more reliable ping, stick to the cabled network while you play.

Re: Who has the lowest hardware possible?
Just got Halo for Xmas
I try to play it on my Dad's G4/450, 10.3.x, 768MB RAM, 32MB Radeon 7000, but it's just playable. It's still fun though!

Re: Who has the lowest hardware possible?
I'm waiting till mid-to-late January before I buy a G5. I've saved my money for awhile, and it's gonna be great, considering I'm using a 600mhz G3 iMac, 16MB VRAM (
) right now.

yeah, i play over airport and it'll lag sometimes for no apparent reason... my ping is fine, my transfer rates are fine, it just decides to pause for a second... plays hell with trying to play halo online or mohaa.

Re: Who has the lowest hardware possible?
well, I think I am using the lowest system to play this game.
Dual 500 MHz G4.
HOWEVER, I have an ATi 8500 and 1.5GB of ram, and 10.3.2
I can play
I even Maxed out what settings I can and IT SLOWS TO A CRAWL..!!!!!
But, the first level was very playable even with I would say medium high settngs. 1024x768 and medium or better eye candy. The ship level played fine. Some stutter but, not very much. Now the Halo or ground levels are more demanding and do slow up much more. Still I was able to play it out and get to the second drop off point which is where I stopped and saved..
Going to install it on my Ti 800 and see what if any better it is. Lower Video card but, faster proc. IF it runs better then I may swing for a dual 1 Ghz upgrade or something like that. Cause being that it wouldn't even run without me holding down the "P" key at startup. Tells you that you need a 700mhz or better to run this game and quits. If the Ti runs it better then a CPU upgrade should make this game run sweet.

Re: Who has the lowest hardware possible?
I also played it on a dual 867 with an Nvidia 4mx and 512MB ram. Game played fine but, we didn't up the settings from whatever default it was. Cause we just wanted to play it.. Played fine. I do believe that upping the settings would kill it cause the MX is not a great card to play that game with..

no, i think there's a little speck of grey off in the distance to the right, in the second screen, that's probably you. or a tree.

Re: Who has the lowest hardware possible?
That was me playing on my own server beforehand. Anyway, when you were shooting at me, and i was hiding behind the pillar/wall, I lobbed a grenade almost straight up, but then Halo crashed (it was to be expected). What happened? Did I just disappear, or did I timeout?
Also, I found the console command for displaying the FPS:
rasterizer_fps 1
to turn it off, use a 0 instead of a 1. I found a list here.

I recall that the CPU upgrade makers aver that the 533, with its shorter, 4-stage pipeline, runs some apps at least as fast as the 733. If the DP 533 works for you, fine 'n' dandy.
