Tito's Love Column: Take Two
Dear Tito,
For the past couple of years, I have been attracted to a very good friend of mine. However, my friend has been involved with another guy all of this time.
They recently broke up after a long relationship (5 years) and now I'm wondering just how long I should wait before I make a move.
Please help me!

I think 5 years is long enough to wait. Make your move!

if he's single, then make your move. you should only wait if he is still dating your friend, but since they have broken up it seems like he is fair game.
good luck!

If you look at zdecker's site you have two options. A guy or a girl statue built into a wall.

No! No! No!
How long should I wait in order to avoid being the rebound guy?
I also don't want to use any of that "I'm there for you" sort of crap either.
So far most of this advice sucks.
Where's Tito when I need him?

It depends on why they broke up, and if the guy friend still has feelings for her.

Re: Tito's Love Column: Take Two
I say... two weeks.
Long enough that it's not like you're swooping in, but short enough for your friend to get back with the other person if they want to. 'Cause you don't want them to dump you after a week if they want the old one back!
Or, something like that. Make sense? It did when I started writing this.

Tell her your gay, then become her friend... tell her that you've never been with a girl, but think that you might becoming straight and you need her help.
Then, make it fit for TV, and air it as a soap opera.

I'm waiting for an invitation, smartass.
All right. Fine. Look, zdecker, this gal was in a five-year relationship. One doesn't get over that long a relationship is a short amount of time. And chances are good that the apple of your eye might like to "be alone" for awhile before she even thinks about starting another relationship. So my advice to you is to be patient--really patient--and give her some time to find herself. This is something a lot of women do after the end of a long relationship--we need to get reacquainted with ourselves. That's because we sometimes have this strange tendency often to define ourselves according to the men we dating and end up losing a strong sense of individuality. So give it some time, but see if you can't get a little information out of her in the meantime, like how long she thinks it'll be before she starts dating again.
