Re: I just ordered iLife

If I live in a house with three roommates and we order the iLife family pack for the house, does anyone think that's violating the TOS?  It says "for household use only" and we're all Mac users in one place... so we should be ok right?

And if that's ok, what about guys living in a dorm? The copy of iLife would stay only with five guys from the dorm. Does that count. Some friends of mine are chomping at the bit to get GarageBand and they live in a dorm. It'd be nice if they could pitch in for a family pack and all get the software for cheaper. Especially since they'll all be in the dorms until well after the next versions of these products come out.

So masses? What say ye?

I don't know.  I live with two other guys, in a house.  I think that would be fair use of the Family Pack.  Besides, if Apple said certain households were families and others weren't they would be opening a whole PR Can of Worms...

A dorm might be pushing it, a dorm ROOM, not as much of a problem in my mind, but with Education pricing, you might not really be much better off, unless you have 5 or more guys in your room...

Re: I just ordered iLife

My Combo drive 1GHZ 12" PB came with 10.3, iPhoto, iTunes, iMovie, iDVD. Bassically it came with ilife.

I don't doubt that, but the question was if he went and bought the retail box of 10.3, would that have iLife in it.  And the answer is no.
