1) Don't be a jerk and no personal attacks. If you have a problem with someone here, don't try to solve it by starting a flamewar. If you feel the two of you can solve the problem, either email the person, or send them a private message. If you don't think that'll work, send a Private Message to me or to another mod.
2) No SPAM. This of coursed means no solicitation. MAF is not a place to hock your stuff.
No spam also means you do not cross post a topic in several forums willy nilly.
3) Stay on topic and be at least half-way intelligent. If your post is shockingly childish, immature, or off-topic, it may mysteriously change, move, or vanish.
4) No posting porn or other gratuitous inappropriate material. This includes, but is not limited to, photos and links. This is a family forum.
5) No Filter Dodging.
6) Don't break any laws. To be safe, don't violate the laws of both the US, and the country you are in, if it isn't the US. Just a thought that might come in handy.
7) Link all large images. Some people in here are still on dial-up and/or have to have their screens at lower resolutions.
For most topics the maximum image size is limited to 450 x 450 pixels inline images.

On certain cleared topics (like desktop image topics) larger sizes will be allowed. To clear a topic for larger images, email me or to another mod. Keep in mind anything which causes me to scroll right will still be altered to fit on a 1024 wide screen.

Signature images are limited 450 x 100 pixels & 100 KB.
8) It's the moderators' job to moderate. Give us a chance to do our job without inundating us with reports whenever someone post something you don't like. If someone is spamming up a storm it's one thing. We need to know that immediately. But if someone simply posts something in the wrong forum there's no need for half the members to jump on the persons case and/or report it to the mods immediately. Assuming one of us is around we'll probably evaluate and handle things within an hour.

On a side note that goes along with this rule, actually READ the topic before you decide it belongs in another forum. For example, too often I see someone say a topic belongs in Balloon Help when it's clearly on people's opinions about a product and not a question on how to make something work.

9) The rules are subject to change without notice. Notably if some especially dense people warrant the need.
