iDVD and compatibility with DVD players
I just bought an iMac G5 and was wondering how compatible the DVDs I am planning to make will be with various players. There used to be a list on the Apple site but it seems to be gone.
Any info our links would be welcome.

Re: iDVD and compatibility with DVD players
I think there are just too many to list these days.
Basically, every DVD player on the market now supports CD-R.
I have a Sony player, a Philips player, an Audiovox in the car, and a Panasonic portable, and they play fine on all of those.
I've also played them on a friends APEX and my Dad's Cyberhome player, which are two of the Chinese bargain brands, and they work fine, too.
Ditto Samsung and Toshiba DVD ROM drives.
Basically, I wouldn't worry about it unless you have a really old (like pre-1999) DVD player. Even then, you can pick up a new one for thirty bucks.

Oh, and remember a lot of it depends on the media you're using. If you use crap, it might be less compatible. That said, I pay about $.35 a pop for Americal generic 4X DVD-Rs and they play fine.
