See levi's post.
Oh. I thought this was old.
'k. Silly me waited until today to update PC Halo to 1.6. I was wondering where all the servers went.

It's supposed to look pretty much like that, assuming GE's wearing his custom skin... but the warthog windshield still looks off. A bit too transparent, I think. A night screen, something "Two Betrayals" perhaps GE? Try the SP stuff, really. Banshee engine pods glow, lights pulsate, all kinds good things happen. Hunter skin should pulse orange after death, slowing as the body 'cools'... guess I still need to send those screens.
Go find out, and then we can debate Ear in a Halo Mac/PC/Xbox debate.

That's better. Still not 100% sure...
Still have to look at this.
OK, got it. I'm not jealous, but I'm glad this happened.

Coulda waited a few days, but...)
Oh, and we need a 1600*1280 timedemo.

GOTCHA! it's just a 1280*1024 screenie (taken in pdf of course) scaled up to 1600*x
The dirt on the bottom left if screwed up, as is the grass just above the turret, where grass meets dirt on the far right, and definitely in the background hills. It's an all-around sloppy PS job that looks good at a glance

Re: Halo patch released (Dec 16, 2004)
If that's a 'GOTCHA!' in your book, you're grasping at straws.
1) I'm trying to prep some CDs to get out tomorrow so as to arrive while this topic is hot, and can't give much more than cursory glances. I registered the anomalies; I was looking at the overall texture, as texture is all the grass effects are. It's OK.
2) You never did comment on the .tga wallpaper[s] I sent awhile back. Put them up, let the audience judge?
3) Can't run a 16*12 timedemo?
4) You think those are leet grfx, you shown nothin'. GRFX GRUDGEMATCH!11~!

Indeed, Digital's working w/ me to get it looking even better

I think I lost them...
Though I do have a gmail account so you can send me gobs of photos

3) Can't run a 16*12 timedemo?
Neither of my monitors can run at that res
The closest I can get is 1600*900 I think it is.

Re: Halo patch released (Dec 16, 2004)
Warthog pic already en route; should be there if it didn't bounce like the last couple. 16x12, indoors in the second chasm, AotCT. Winky shaders behind in wall, of course. Not the all-time best, but picked fast and good enough for starters.
If I had the DVD burner on line (been waiting on the A64 upgrade), BC and Icks would already have 4.5+ GBs of grfx 1337++ness.

Though I have an oddball resolution, I went though the ending cinematic with 4x supersampling, 2x anistropic with the advanced shaders on and took some screenies. I'm hopping on a this little bandwagon even though I play a slideshow at those settings.

Try the standard skin for screenies- specular color is really off.

Got it. It's only vehicles though, and the skin only affects MC (i think). Plus it's a pain to take the skin off (did I back up those maps? shiiiit) I'll send over a skinned one and maybe an unskinned one later.
