Abuse is a classic, although the only problem I ever had with it was that the single-player game was a bit short. Fun multiplayer though, and I wouldn't mind I someone released a patch to give it internet support through GameRanger....

Funny you mention it, because I was playing around with Abuse just last night.

As far as a sequel goes, it's not likely, of course.  However, I'm currently working on initial concepts and designs for a side-scrolling, OpenGL accelerated, fast-paced action game for OS X; it is very much inspired by Abuse, Contra, and other great side-scrolling shoot 'em ups.  Unfortunately, I don't know a lick about coding (and even when I try to learn, I get nowhere...it just doesn't jive with my mindset and way of thinking), and although my brother can get his head around writing code pretty well, one programmer probably won't be enough for the complexity of the game we've got planned.

Ah well...in time it'll come together.
