Re: Which M$ App is next to die?
The current price for Powerpoint by itself is $399. If they can afford a $300 difference for one program, then I think Apple could afford to sell a word proccessor, spreadsheet, and presentation program for $150 total. If the price is reasonable and it is a better program than office, I think Apple could make a killing.
Make a killing if they released it for Mac AND PC's maybe bundling copies with iPods would be a great way to spread the new version.

Keynote = $99
PowerPlant = $300-odd standalone
Bah! I have ditched ALL but Word! So what if my Dock has 3 more icons than if I used Entourage? I'm supporting Apple!
I predict Windows will be the next MS app (kinda) to die.

Re: Which M$ App is next to die?
Can anyone suggest replacements for MS/Visio and MS/Project? I need something that can import Visio diagrams and Project files on OS X.

Re: Which M$ App is next to die?
I think that apple will surprise us again. I was suprised by the introduction of Safari using a different browser engine than Gecko. I thought we would have a really bloated version of Chimera. Instead of an apple version of Chimera, we got Safari. Very nice move apple! Surprise everyone. It would pretty standard for apple to release a new version of apple works based on the existing application written for OS 9. Or would it? There have been rumors of a Sun(StarOffice) collaboration. Or an open os project. I think it would be very much part of apple's philosophy to find the most kick ass open source office application and adapt it to Mac OS X, and then give it back improved to the community. Remember, that Steve Jobs thinks open source is great. I think we can look forward to an open source solid office application in the future. Does anyone know of any great open source Office applications? Does this have anything to do with X11?

So. Do. I.
Gawd, I need Project. We're stuck with like Project 3.1!
