If you look carefully at the beginning of the Mini-me/Yao Ming trailer, you'll see that Mini-me isn't boarding a "real" airplane--it's actually a cabin training simulator that the airlines use for Flight Attendant training.
Looks pretty convincing, though!

If you're referring to the trailer, look no further than Apple.com

Re: Superbowl 2003: Apple airplane-trailer Mini-me &Wang Zhi

For the past few SuperBowls, I've found myself more interested in the commercials than the game.  Its was weird, because I found myself using the restroom DURING the game to watch the commercials more intently.

Re: Superbowl 2003: Apple airplane-trailer Mini-me &Wang Zhi

got a link?

I don't think it's a real article.

"Wang Zhizhi?" What the heck is that? That's not CNN. At least that's not what CNN said, that's paraphrasing, if there's something to paraphrase, which brings us back to my theory that such an article does not, in fact, exist.

EDIT: A search for "Apple" brings up nothing.

The prosecution rests.

Yeah. I read the same article earlier today and I recognize Sports by Brooks as one of their sponsors smile

[irritated rant]
Gawd, I hate it when people call him "Mini Me."

Firstly, it just sounds degrading and stupid.  Secondly, that's not his name, but the name of a character he played in a movie.  By everyone's moronic logic, we should call him Mini Me/Mini Austin Powers (and actually say "slash" between the monikers), since he played both of those characters in the movies.

His name is Verne.  Verne Troyer.  Is it really so hard to actually call him by his name, or is everyone so brainwashed by pop culture as to not actually know what his name is?

This might matter if you knew that it bothered him. The fact is that playing the role of Mini Me has catapoulted him into fame and fortune and has enabled him to do all of the really cool things we see him doing now. For example, every time you turn around he is at another Playboy mansion party. If it weren't for Austin Powers he wouldn't have those type of oppurtunities and therefore I really don't think it would bother him as much as it bothers you to be called Mini Me.

I know that his name is Verne Troyer but if he comes up in a conversation I'm having I will either use his real name or Mini Me depending on who I am talking to because the fact remains that more people will know who you are talking about if you say Mini Me as opposed to Verne.

If the name Mini Me is known by more people than Verne Troyer than that just shows how much that role he played influenced pop culture and shows that he did his job well. If he takes his career to the next level and begins playing other roles then I think you will see people call him by his real name because his real name will be put out there more. As it stands he is famous for one thing and therefore that is what he is associated with.

Later, Frank

Re: Superbowl 2003: Apple airplane-trailer Mini-me &Wang Zhi

My assumption was that he was talking about CNN Sportsdesk on TV thus no article.

Wang Zhi Zhi, for those of you who dont know, was the first Chinese basketball player to ever play in the NBA. A slip of the tongue by the anchor is my guess. Unless they really dont know which one of them is in the commercial, then they should be fired.

Fired and shot.
