Oh, and I miss Mello Yello. I can only find it in Indiana. Damn Mountain Dew. You are worthless compared to the almighty beverage that is Mello Yello.
I've seen Mellow Yellow at every single McDonald's I've ever been to. You might score a fix there..look for the golden arches.
Well that makes sense, considering McD's and Coca Cola are bed buddies.
I can get Mello Yello at many stores here in Canada. I prefer it to Mountain Dew because it's not quite as sweet (Just like Coke isn't as sweet as Pepsi).

I prefer Mtn. Dew myself. Still, it's nice to have another option and not have the man holding a monopoly on flourescent yellow sugar drinks.

Re: stuff that is no longer available...
Tower Root Beer! Very, very good root beer. It was made in Charlestown, MA, until about 1970. Unable to compete with the juggernaut of the huge soft drink companies, they folded. I don't think it was ever distributed beyond New York state, or further south than New Jersey.
It wasn't too sweet. It had just the right amound of "bite", and if poured into a glass, it made a head like Guiness. The funny thing was that it was never sold in cans, but only in dark brown, long neck bottles. It sometimes confused some people, when they saw kids drinking with gusto from these bottles. It was sold in un-common places, such as smaller grocery stores, and general stores which were located outside major cities.
You dudes and dudettes want to try a drink which seperates the men from tbe boys, and the women from the girls? (I know you do.
)
How about a nice glass of Moxie? Umm, umm Good! Personally, I cannot believe this stuff is still around. This stuff will put hair on your chest. If you have hair on your chest, Moxie will probably remove it.

Is it a cola soda? I didn't see on the site what it is exactly.

I miss a pastry from Berlin called the Berliner (I think that's how it's spelled) You can only get it around the Berlin area, and I can't find a recipe to make my own
I also miss Celebrities Sports Center. It was a giant arcade in Denver that had everything. Bowling, swimming, pool, and every kind of arcade game you could want. The most you got charged for a game was $.25 and that was for the better games. Most stuff was only $.10 You played for tickets then got prizes with the tickets. They tore it down and up up a Men's Warehouse
I miss snowball fights with my friends when we were kids.

One of the benefits (I guess besides the cheap, compliant labor pool) of having a growing Mexican population is that they have started to bring in the sugar-sweetened Coke in the bottle here.
I oughta try some, but I'm afraid I'll get spoiled. I probably drank them occasionally as a kid, but not much as soda was something my parents refused to spend money on.
Aw, he's no fun, he fell right over.

It's a cola type of drink. It has a strong taste, not too much sweetener.
I've had it, but I'm not a huge fan.
Have some history.

I missed SkyBar.
You can get SkyBar everywhere around here.
I miss Nabisco Marshmallow Cookies. They were soggy 'nilla wafers, spread with honey (I thought it was glue when I was a kid) with a marshmallow center. No chocolate. I tried to make them from scratch but they weren't the same.
I miss Mello-Rolls too. I bet nobody here is old enough to remember them, though. They were cylindrical vanilla ice cream rolls that fit into specially-made "cones" that never dripped. When you ate them, you could get them to roll in the "cone."

There is one Howard Johnson's left in MA. It's in Greenfield.
Hey, I have been to that one.
Have you ever been to the little Greenfield town that the guy built in his yard? I love that place!

Haven't been there, Mr. McPhee. You mean someone built a model of an entire town in his back yard? Now, that's a hobby.
So many great things to love about Ho-Jo's, when they were in their heyday. Those turkey dinners, which were to die for, delicious hot dogs (servered in one of those cardboard holders) and of course, the enormous selection of candy and ice cream. (The better to keep the kiddies occupied on long motor trips.)
It was sad when the Howard Johnson's restaurants on the Mass pike became known for slow, often poor service, and high prices. ultimately, they were all replaced with "the clown". Times do change.
You can still buy Howard Johnson's ice cream in some grocery stores. Someone, possibly Breyer's Ice cream Inc, bought the rights to the name and logo.
So, any New Englanders here remember when there was a Brigham's ice cream shop in every neighborhood?

I miss the old arcade video game "Sinistar." It's probably available somewhere, but I'm not enough of a video game person to want to seek it out.
One of those Plug-n-Play TV games has Sinistar on it. It's the one that looks like the old arcade style red knob joystick, IIRC.
I miss 7up Gold. It was a spice flavored version of 7up that came and went in the 80's, apparently only out westward.
Oh yeah, and I've bought 10 cent cokes in bottles from machines too, and Moxie is truly awful.
