OSX! I'm safe (or even Win98. I'm safe)

Stopped at work this morning and had to pick up a flyer when I signed in. The flyer said that if your system was running MS Win 2k or MS Win XP you could be infected with W32.SQLEXP.WORM and if running either OS DO NOT start computer or attach computer to network until further notice. I wonder if that means I can stay home tomorrow? No, I guess not, because, alas, they have not upgraded my PC yet.  big_smile

Disclaimer: This message is merely commenting on current affairs vaguely related to the Apple experience and is not meant to make light of the pain being felt by anyone out there experiencing difficulties due to a worm chewed OS. I have felt your pain  cry

You know, in the past.  wink

Safe, but the walls sure did crumble. All of my machines were fine (Macs, of course), but the line in and out of the university goes through an NT box (plus a firewall!) and they were brought to their knees for several hours. Which translates, of course, to having my machines blocked...time to clean the keyboards, I guess.

Cheers,
ptervin...wondering why

Wondering because, come to think of it, it wasn't really that bad.

This is only my campus I/O 1.5Mbit line, but it looks fairly normal--unusual for a Saturday/Sunday, perhaps, but similar to what we have each day. It was probably much worse just outside the loop.

I do know that everything stopped for a couple of hours.

Cheers,
ptervin...who should probably stop wondering and just start wandering

OK, OK, I really should stop and look before I said anything. Those lines were peaked, weren't they!

I'll go back to sleep now...no, I can't, I have meetings to attend!

Cheers,
ptervin...showing he's not thinking

I agree, for a minute I thought that it was two or three different people posting...

Network at my work was brought way down... couldn't do much at the start of the day, and our network was up halfway though, but I couldn't transfer to anybody usefull because their networks were down all day.

I hate it when the network crashes, it seems to happen everyday were I am.

Aside from being unable to visit a couple of forum sites, it didn't really affect me.
