Damn bastards and their stupid password policy.
You only need the password to edit your configuration or join / leave a team, so how would not knowing your password keep you from cranking out WUs?

I think there was a thread about this - he had to start over after doing like over 1000 because he couldn't change his email addy or somthing, iirc.

Yes, but even if the email address doesn't even exist anymore, you can still crunch workunits for that account.
The only thing you're SOL on is, if you forgot / never got your account password, you have no way of getting it. In that case, you can't change your user account info or post in the sah forums, but that's about it.
