Creative Audigy2 Settings remembered? How is it done..
One would think that being the largest sound card manufacturer in the world would have its perks, like, for one, making software that worked...
I have the "Load on startup" and "place in taskbar" options checked, and upon startup, neither is done.
I have to go into the Graphic Equalizer to initialize the setting which I have SAVED.
Upon opening the equalizer, the effects of said equalizer are immediately put into place, but only when it is opened, and these are not remembered upon restart either..
In startup in msconfig, both the DVD check and Creative Volume Control items are in place and checked, so this should not be happening...i've uninstalled, reinstalled, and recently updated the drivers, none have helped Creative remember its own settings...
What's going on..

Software graphic equalizers are smurf.
In fact, most equalization is smurf.
But, then again, those Klipsch speakers you go on and on about are also smurf, so I guess I can't expect you to have any taste.
Just turn the equalizer off.

Speakers? you mean those overpriced and overly large boxes?
Really, all you need is a $10 pair of headphones. Maybe $100 if you really like your music/games
Or maybe that's just the cheap/lack of space me talking...

Headphones suffice for most of my audio wants. I'd be careful about calling people retarded, BBQ. Not MiniThink here; it's a tech forum.

Why am I at fault?
the only reply that person made was saying my speakers are smurf. Why did you not give him a warning that this isnt the meaningless attack forum..

Note that Jehannum moderates this forum, and he made other comments first, beginning with software EQ in general. If you feel that remark was over the line, I suggest mentioning it privately to him, or up the chain if you feel that strongly about it. However, calling nearly everyone ('most of you') in the room "retarded" is clearly over.

This isn't the meaningless attack forum, but that reads like one to me.

My Aud 2 ZS card and software works fine. Maybe try removing/uninstalling everything and start fresh. I guess first you could try Creative's auto update feature on their web site.

Your speakers are smurf.
Quite frankly, you're best served leaving the EQ flat, because all software EQ does is muddy the sound more than the Audigy card and Klipsch speakers do already.

Dang, y'all are brutal. Poor guy comes here seeking honest advice and all ya do is slam his equipment.
If we're here to bash equipment, then y'all line up with legs spread and I'll bash your "equipment" all day long.
C'mon the first seven post were useless garbage to the questions asked.
I see that you uninstalled everything before, but did that include removing the card out of device mngr. Maybe try uninstalling again with a regedit search for the software to make sure it is striped out.
Could another app be shuting them down like some antivirus or spybot's teatimer.

I'm with you Levi. I think a Mod needs to be above this kind of thing. Ok I really do not like BBQs mouth some time. But I just dont post when I have nothing nice to say.
BBQ. I think you are right about Creative. I have the same card and I have had more problems with it then I feel I should have. O do not use the Graphic Equalizer that came with the sound card. But I do use the one that came with iTunes. If that helps any.

Re: Creative Audigy2 Settings remembered? How is it done..
Yes. Often, but not always, makers will note you should shut down any running A/Vware lest it interfere with installation. I have no trouble of note with my Audigy, but I run only the basic drivers, not the rather bloated kitchen-sink software package.
I've not had that trouble with Spybot 1.3, but then it does give you a warning and ask if such-and-so change should be allowed. Since this is a troubled install, shutting that down too might be good.

I don't quite see that. If I can't kibbutz with fellow Clanners now and again (Booksley being someone who might be a bit flippant now and again, but neither 'retarded' nor 'a moron'), I'm quitting. Levi, you should know better than to threaten violence to people you either do or might soon see in meat life. A threat is grounds for a ban... I'll take it that you got carried away. My 'yes'
implied I thought Books' response off the mark, as he himself noted was possible.
You also know that headphones do suffice for most of my audio needs, but with nearly 35 years of speaker design and building behind me (and hopefully some ahead), I don't denigrate their value.

Sorry wasn't meant as a threat. At the time of the post, I thought of it as an innuendo/parity to all the other bashing going on.
