jaguar and print center
I installed os 10.2 last night. today it has taken my printer out of print center. Help said rienstall. I did. I tried doing add printer, and a pop down box appeared. It showed my printer (canon i850) . I highlighted it. then the cancel button was lit up but the add button was pale gray. So I can't add the printer. Any suggestions?
thanks,
Paul

Re: jaguar and print center
What were your symptoms before, that you consulted the Help Center to reinstall the printer?
Also, have you tried installing Print Center Repair? You can download it from www.versiontracker.com

Re: jaguar and print center
I have had similar problems with Print Center in Jag. I tried Apple's Repair Permissions and Print Center repair but these were only temporary fixes. First, make sure you have the most up-to-date drivers, Next, delete the preference files for Print Center in your ~/Library/Preferences folder. I have found it helps if I delete the /etc/cups/printers.conf file as well. Turn on your printer then launch Print Center and it should ask if you want to add a printer.
I don't know if there is a compatible driver for you priner in the Gimp-Print package, but I have not had any printing trouble since installing it. It is an easy package to install and set up.
