For yahoo you need the more expensive POP yahoo account in prder to access it with an email client outside of the internet. For that you would set up up like any other pop account. Hotmail ont eh other hand doesnt offer such a service, so you are stuck accessing hotmail through Microsoft's Entourage, assuming you have Office X that is... Anywho, I recommend .mac it is much more reliable than other email services and doesnt bombard you with spam or ads. I dont get any spam with my .mac account and I've been using it for a year. Hope this helps, oh yea and congrats on getting a mac.

For yahoo you need the more expensive POP yahoo account in prder to access it with an email client outside of the internet. For that you would set up up like any other pop account.

Which is to say..  pay the bucks for  Yahoo.  But as Cuzog says:  With my mac.com account, I have received one and only 1 spam e-mail.

If you don't want to pay for a full Mac.com account, find a fellow Mac user in your area and share the cost.  If you don't want any website (ha -- you will eventually), you can just pay your friend $ 10 for the price of a Mac.com account for one year  (or less depending on what your friend has left on his Mac.com account).
