Genetically Modified Goodness!

"We're over the hump," he announces in a merry tone. "The big tobacco companies can't stop us now. We've got the Amish on our side."

-article.

I just read this story (from last Nov.) on /. and I'm excited over this one.  Some crack has genetically modified tobacco so that it doesn't produce nicotine.  And This crack is marketing it.  They'll be selling cigarettes with all the nasty carcinogens, but sans nicotine.  It's a great 4 page read even if you don't smoke or care about smoking.

Enter the GMO argument, but the nicotine-free cigarette is a product I've been calling a no brainer for years.

Re: Genetically Modified Goodness!

One more FAQ:
I can get the same chemicals by ducting car exhaust into my house, why should I buy Quest?

The car of the future is a train with a bike waiting at the other end.

You're probably not a smoker.

Agreed. It makes even less sense than decaf coffee.

Cancer without the drug.  That'll sell.
Excuse me while I drink my non-alcoholic beer to wash down my sugar-free and fat-free brownie.

Re: Genetically Modified Goodness!

I bought some online last night.  Quitting smoking is difficult, and I figure that if I can get hooked on non-chemically-addictive cigarettes, then the hard part will be over.
