Show-off Time!
Lately I have been messing around with a KDE program called "Kommander". Kommander is what you would call a "GUI maker for scripts". Essentially, I can take a advanced shell script and make a GUI for it in very little time (Take that Visual Basic! HA!).
Well after playing around with it, recreating simple dialogs and other functions, I got to thinking, "What do I really NEED? or WHat am I missing?" Well, to tell the truth, I am missing alot; but I needed something simple to do.
Enter the Jedi Academy Launcher for Linux!!!

Before, I had to go to a terminal shell, and cd to the directory where JA is installed; THEN go "cedega ./jamp.exe" to get it to run. Then later I created simple bash scripts that would automatically mount my JA CD and run it. And THEN, I created desktop icons for the game. However, JA has TWO executables: single player and multiplayer. Thats one icon too many!
Now, I'm not sure about Macintosh, but on Windows there is a "Launcher" similar to this that has links for the usual "SP, MP, troubleshooting, quit". So I decided to write my own.
This is V2 of the launcher. V1 was a much simplier program and wasn't that good looking.
I know this is a Mac-centric board and I'm sure this program wouldn't run on one; but its Show-off time! I feel SO proud! hehe
Note:
The "Map Editing" thing doesn't work. I am still trying to get Linux-Radiant to work on JA maps. So far, If I want to play with radiant for JA, its a reboot for me. However I am |-----| this close to getting it to work.
"Movie Battles" does nothing right now. I used to have it installed, but I don't now. It's simply a placeholder for the time being.
For all those out there that would want this app: This isn't ready for distrubution yet. The scripts that power the GUI are "Mishura-eccentric" since they are highly customized and don't rely on how others would have things set up. I may try to decentralize the scripting so that it could be "with little modding" work on other KDE/unix desktops, but only if there is a demand. If anyone wants to see the source, its a XML file and I'll gladly give it to anyone that wants it.
