Thanks for the help!
Twenty American firefighters arrived in Melbourne today, to help with our bushfire problems. The Eastern states in Australia have got a really big bushfire problem at the moment. We are in our second year of drought, we are having an intensely hot summer and a lot of forests and grasslands are completely dried out.
Some of our firefighters are in their fourth straight week of round-the-clock work, and we've got a 60-mile front in one place.
The past couple of years Australian firefighters have gone to the USA to help with your forest fires and the news people have always made a big fuss of it. It's nice to be able to say "Thank you" in return.
We've also had some New Zealanders over to help. Thanks to you too, guys.
It's hard to fly like a turkey when you're up to your ass in alligators.
