yes. just autos. good catch.

nevermind that oil, kerosene, charcoal and wood are also combustible fuels.

As for the rest, yes they are, but tell me, think that wood & kerosene percentages are so high that they are statistical at all in the US?

Here is some help for ya.

Hmm, I wonder who produces more pollution...

aw...i'll just imply you're a jackass from now on.

the point was it's not just cars that burn combustible fuel.

what do electrical power plants burn again?

Mount St. Helens produces between 500 and 1,000 tons a day of carbon dioxide, he estimates.

Nothstein, of the state energy office, says the Centralia coal plant puts out about 28,000 tons a day. Statewide, automobiles, industries, and residential and business heating systems emit nearly 10 times that amount."

Mt St Helens is not the largest greenhouse polluter.

I always love it when people post articles that refute the point they're trying to make.

If you read the article, it even quote someone who specifically makes fun of people who try to make the claim that resedit was making.

Well, statistics seem to point to the US, but I don't suppose that facts carry much weight with you.

However, the argument isn't about pollution, thicky.  It's about greenhouse gas emmissions, most specifically CO2.

Every reputable source points out that the US produces more CO2, all by it's little self, than China, the EU 25, Russia, India, and amazingly, we produce 75% of the volume of CO2 produced by the entire rest of the world (excluding those nations named above) COMBINED.

But again, I don't suppose facts matter much, do they?  Best just to obfuscate the issue by insisting that only automobiles use fuel.

Next time, read the entire post.  Then you won't seem so stupid.

C02 is not the only greenhouse gas.

Look, the article flat contradicts your point.  St Helens is the largest producer of SO2, but that only contributes to acid rain, which is what the article means by St Helens is the largest polluter.

SO2 isn't a greenhouse gas.  CO2 is the most significant gas contributing to the greenhouse effect.

To be fair, volcano's can have a dramatic effect on global cooling. Perhaps even more dramatic than the global warming.
According to the global warming community, there has been a 1 degree rise in temp over the last 100 years. One volcanic eruption (Pinatubo) lowered temps in the northern hemisphere 1 degree for a whole year as well as effecting rain totals.

What greenhouse gases, besides CO2, do volcanoes emit?

Oh, and BTW, a volcano's major gas expulsion on average is H20, then CO2, then OS2, then H2, then CO, then H2S, HCI, and finally in some cases HF.

So you tell me, which one would you conceder a greenhouse gas?
