And to answer your question, I have a couple theories....

1. U2 is a group of actual musicians, therefore a "musically" themed iPod makes sense to most people.

2. Many people feel betrayed/let down by where Lucas has taken Star Wars so there will always be some sarcasm.

You have to back that up with examples, outside of numerous film soundtracks/scores aping the same old John Williams hooks and flourishes I have to challenge that statement. I suppose you could count the stuff Weird Al did, but...

I was referring to the other, numerous "not Star Wars" movie sound tracks that mimic John Williams work.

Perhaps you should have just explained you hate U2 and comparatively love those film scores? I'm not saying film scores aren't valid entertainment (that can be enjoyed independently of their related medium), but that is hardly "more good music came out of / because of Star Wars" than virtually any artist catalog. Considering U2 has been failry prolific (even with the burden of Bono's ego) I would not call 3 or 4 good scores "more". And I'm not sure you could market an iPod based on this idea either...
