Re: Matrix Reloaded Superbowl trailer!

I am more excited about the Tron sequel.  Since the matrix was nothing but a rip off of tron anyway-and poorly done at that.

I do not know which looks worse The Matrix 2 and 3 or Terminator 3.

Dude whatever. The Matrices look tight. Though I haven't seen Tron...is it truly better?

Re: Matrix Reloaded Superbowl trailer!

I smurfin love Tron, but am pissed about Tron 2.0, I WANTED TO WRITE AND DIRECT a Tron Sequel...

To answer DaBeech, I can't really compare them...  Tron is a classic, Special effects fest from back when and the Matrix is now...  Tron is chessy now, but a lot of fun to watch...

Re: Matrix Reloaded Superbowl trailer!

I express myself by saying that...

The scene with Neo vs. 100 Agent Smiths is completely CGI.

According to Newsweek.

Damn good!

Re: Matrix Reloaded Superbowl trailer!

over half of the film is going to be CGI.  but I would imagine that what we saw in the superbowl trailer is not completely finished.  so while it may not look real enough right now, they still have 4 months to work on them (which most effects heavy films do).

and what moron said that the Matrix was a rip off of Tron?  have you seen these movies that you speak about?  ignorant.

tron (just like starwars) did not incorporate any CG into the film.  they were all optical effects.  films didn't start using computers until the late 80's, early 90's.

now don't get me wrong.  I liked Tron and all, but I don't think it warrants a sequel.  the problem with Hollywood is that they make sequels to films that the story doesn't warrant.  now before you run off saying that the 2 Matrix films are sequels, they aren't.  the Wachowski's always envisioned the story as a trilogy.  so just like Starwars, there was more story that one film couldn't fit.

just like Terminator 2 and other films in the past have pushed visual effects  as far as they can go, the Matrix sequels will move visual effects into completely new and amazing territory.  just as the first Matrix revolutionized the industry with the concept of Bullet Time.

yeah, aubrey and luigi just want to get attention.  none of their blurts have anything to support the claim.  you just have to ignore people like that.

Re: Matrix Reloaded Superbowl trailer!

that is such a retarded article.  there is no way that the Matrix is a highly evolved remake of Tron.  the stories are not even similar.  if you watch the movies with half a brain, you could clearly see that.

of course everyone takes inspiration from everywhere.  just as inspiration for the matrix came from Plato, Alice In Wonderland and a few other concepts.  very few ideas simply come from nowhere.  they all, for the most part, take an idea from something else and build upon it.

but saying the Matrix is a rip off of Tron is totally blind to the ideas of the stories.

I don't believe this statement to be 100% correct.  If by "CG" you mean "fake characters and objects created with 3D & compositing software" then yes, that aspect of computer graphics didn't take off until the late 80's and early 90's with movies like Willow and The Abyss.

Computers were being used for special effects years before that, though. Tron did have CG in it.  It was done in a much more primitive fashion, but the movie definitely used computer-generated graphics.
