I could do it but I'm afraid that I would be a hindrance to my team

Re: 3 v 3 CTF Tourny
Well thats three...coolio now we can field four teams.
We have;
Old Farts (Doc, Brain, OSFG)
MiAX (Gator, Que and Myself)
Peeps that need to band together.
BJShan
Marathionman
Koola
Gi
GoEat
Mr. Cigar
If it was me, based on my interpretation of skill I'd try:
BJShan, Koola, & Gi
Marathion, GoEat, & Mr. Cigar
Just my thoughts, y'all talk among yourselves.
GoEat:
Hey last week on Cain's playing with me you ranked higher up in the middle of the pack. Not bad, there's talent there just need to keep at it.
Mr. Cigar:
What is your nick you've been playing under? I have Mr. Cigar on the buddy list but never ever see ya. Has it changed?
To Everyone:
Who here has problems with MA3 and/or Omega. I'm thinking of using both for this. Like teams 1&2 meet on Omega, teams 3&4 meet on MA 3 on the same day. Then rotate and switch around. BJ, Brain is that cool with y'all?
Next maps...throw out some suggestions.

Re: 3 v 3 CTF Tourny
BJ and Mr. Cigar are ppl I know. I've played with Koola before. Teams sound fine to me and I'll play in the teams that Levi picked. But I'm willing to experiment, so I don't really mind if I'm teamed up with Marathion and GoEat (both of whom I've never played with) if they want to play with me.
As for maps, I really like that new Face map, CTF-FaceClassic. That's my only map pick for now because I've been playing Onslaught a lot, so I don't know many good CTF maps. LOL! Let's play CTF-andAction. (kidding)
We may have a third option for servers. My ISP gives me ten free hours each month for their game server rental service. I haven't checked it out yet, so I'll experiment with it this weekend. I'll set up a test server if anyone wants me to, but that'll have to wait until the weekend. This will be our "backup" server in the unlikely event that something goes wrong with MA3 or Omega. Actually I don't know about that because the servers have to be reserved one hour in advance at the very latest. Well, just something I'm throwing out there.

Sold! Great map list for what we're trying to do.
Sounds like the {O}ld Farts may get blown out.
Weeknights are best for me. Anything later than 8 PM EDT requires a sitdown conference with the wife, but I'm game.

Re: 3 v 3 CTF Tourny
Sorry about the lateness. Lots of things came up last weekend. Here's what I learned about the GameDaemons server rental service:
1. Match times must be on the hour, e.g., I can only reserve a server for 1:00 AM, 2:00 PM, 3:00 AM, etc., not 1:15 PM, 2:30 AM, 3:45 PM.
2. Server locations (in USA):
Los Angeles, CA
San Jose, CA
Atlanta, GA
Chicago, IL
New York, NY
Dallas, TX
Ashburn, VA
Seattle, WA
The only international server they have is in London, UK
3. I rented the Dallas server and tried configuring the server... no go. I couldn't access the server via FTP or via KPanel despite following their instructions to the letter. Couldn't even log into the server on UT2004. It pings and it asks for a password, but the server password doesn't work (I choose the password when I book a reservation). Maybe they're having issues today. In any case, I'm glad I didn't have to shell out any money.
So, unfortunately, this server is out the window.
As for the match details, I'm good only on weekends. I work weeknights.
Here are my map picks:
Yea
CTF-FaceClassic
CTF-Almost
CTF-Citadel
CTF-Bedrooms][remix
CTF-CheckMateV2
Nay
CTF-Maul
CTF-Thorns
CTF-CourtYard

Weekend afternoons, EDT, work great for me. My Saturday nights must be sacrificed on the altar of a sane marriage. Sunday nights, well, I'm addicted to HBO's Carnivale and Deadwood, but we just got TiVo so it could work.
Do we need a server rental for this, Gi?

Re: 3 v 3 CTF Tourny
Afternoons before 7 PM EDT are also good for me.
We don't need a server rental, Brain. Speakeasy just gives me free hours and I was just trying to find a way to use them.

Re: 3 v 3 CTF Tourny
Back with SpeakEasy, eh? I tried to get them when I moved to CT, but the phone lines are too old here. I went with cable, which has a fatter pipe around here.

Re: 3 v 3 CTF Tourny
If you guys need a server I could run a dedicated sometime this week. I'm at the University of Texas and I get about 10 megabits up and down. Unfortuneately I don't have anything but standard maps. Cool?

Have you done this before? Rather are you sure the firewall's ports are open in order for it to happen.
